U15 Match Report 19/2/2012 |
Pre-season friendly match against Camden Tigers
The U15s finally got their first trial game of the season after bad weather interrupted previous trials, as expected with the quality of skillful players the team is blessed with, it took only 1 minute from kickoff to create the first attack and opportunity, one of many over the 70 minutes played in trying hot conditions. The boys played exceptionally well having 70% of possession, unfortunately all the good work and play didn’t materialise at the back of the net, and as they say, goals missed are goals against you, and this is what happened after the only corner obtained by Camden. A sloppy clearance gave the opportunity to Camden to have a good crack at goal and score what was to be the only goal in the match. Dully kept maintaining possession and kept the ball circulating at good pace and accuracy. The movement of the ball was also very well displayed considering the team is very new. The score line doesn’t reflect the possession and the many missed chances Dully had.
Some of the plays in patches were of a high standard and the all the signs are there for a very entertaining and competitive season.
Tip from the coach - Treat the ball as your best friend, and respect it, use it as a pillow in bed; if you do this the ball will respect you back!!!!
