U15 Match Report 11/3/2012

Mt Druitt 3 vs Dully 3

After a week of heavy rain, we were treated to a great sunny Sunday morning for our last trail match against  Mt Druitt.  The boys were psyched for the match and it showed as we dominated the opening stages of the match as we controlled possession from the back and created some half-chances as we built up our attacks from the back with some good exchanges of play.  Just after the halfway point of the first half, we went ahead after some good buildup by the team up to the 18-yard box where the ball spilled to our player about 25 yards out who had hard low shot superbly saved by their goalkeeper but our striker had followed the shot in to score a great poachers goal.  Shortly afterwards after some fantastic play up the right and some great determination by our striker lead to a great opportunity for our captain who comfortably slotted home his chance to put us up 2-0.  Half time 2-0.

The second half started poorly as we seemed a little bit flat and our normally great first touches seemed to desert us.  This finally caught up with us after some sloppy play lead to a goal for Mt Druitt, 2-1 Dully.  We continued to struggle with our control of the ball with our goalkeeper keeping us ahead.  We slowly began to get back into the match and after some substitutions we started to regain our foothold into the match.  After some nice build up, one of our strikers made a fantastic pass inbetween the defenses centre and left back to put our right winger one on one with their keeper, who unselfishly squared the ball to our other striker who put away his second goal for the match.  3-1 to Dully.  We let them back into the match with a defensive mistake which lead to a goal from them out of the run of play.  3-2 to Dully.  A couple of minutes later, they equalized through a long ball from the keeper and some nice play from their attack. 3-3. With only a couple of minutes left, our team tried tremendously hard for a winner and created several chances late in the match, but we were unlucky not to find the winner, as the match finished 3-3.

Coach tip:  Put in the hard yards at every training session and you will see a positive results on game day!

Regards,

Robert Pestana
